The Kinyerezi 1 Extension Project is one of those quiet but powerful transformations.
Located just outside Dar es Salaam, it’s part of a broader shift in Tanzania’s energy story, from vulnerability to resilience. With the installation and commissioning of a 185 MW open cycle gas turbine, the total capacity of the Kinyerezi complex now stands at 575 MW. That’s nearly 20% of the country’s entire electricity generation.
But beyond the numbers, this project reduces dependency on hydropower, especially in times of drought. It strengthens the grid. It stabilizes supply. It makes space for progress.
CSI Energy Group led the execution. We helped translate the impact.
Through a project video, we brought together words, visuals, and emotion to show what this work truly means, not just for the energy sector, but for the people it powers.
"Working with the team was a refreshing experience. They took the time to understand not just the technical details of the project, but the deeper impact behind it. Their approach to storytelling is subtle but powerful, they helped us communicate the value of the Kinyerezi 1 Extension in a way that felt honest, human, and aligned with our purpose."
